Fbi Glock 19m Sights - In June 2016, Glock won the FBI contract and rumors began to circulate about various specifications of the Glock M models, which we know are very closely related to the new Gen5. Like the M models, the Gen5 Ameriglo comes with three-dot night sights, which Glock seems to have the right to compete openly with other pistol manufacturers. This is a big step in the right direction for Glock and stems from their involvement with the FBI contract solicitation requirements (link to PDF, requirements can be found at C.4-14). The TL;DR of this is that the FBI wanted black steel, non-reflective, rear sights that could be removed with one hand, they wanted the POA/POI at an edge point (which cuts the target in half along the front). . sight ledge at 25 yards), they wanted a three-dot night sight, they were to be "high visibility sights," what the FBI called the Trijicon HD (GL101O), the same type of sights I reviewed earlier, and they The "U" notch rear sight was wanting. The request didn't ask for a specific sight width or height, meaning this was a great opportunity to build a truly custom sight system for civilians and LEOs across the United States - buying a factory new duty-grade firearm with high visibility. And has the ability to shoot with precision, and Ameriglo jumped on that very quickly and hit a home run. I was lucky enough to get a set of FBI contract sights and bold sights from Ameriglo to bat before Gen5's official release last week, and I passed them on. In this review of FBI contract sights and bold sights, I'll cover everything from measurements to my experience with implementation. I've had these sight systems since 10/16, so just shy of a full year, I've put thousands of rounds down with these sights on several of my Glocks as well as my EDC Glock 19.

I'm always looking for different places and try to outdo my personal preferences. I want to start off with two places because I want to see what my limitations are in general, not the software hardware. My default EDC sight system is a well-worn set of Ameriglo DeFour (GT-514) sights, I've reviewed regular, non-tritium dot DeFour sights along with other Ameriglo sights, and I always come up short. going to one Ameriglo Defoor sights. This is probably because I do a lot of 25 yard line plus shooting and the thin front blade of the standard DeFoore is .115, and the tritium point front is .125 which allows me to get good accuracy from distant sights, while nailing the tip a bit. Adding paint allows me to get faster results. The Bold and FBI sights have an option for a .125mm front sight width, this is fantastic as it allows the shooter the ability to have a very thin and accurate front sight that is also very visible due to the red ring around the tritium. tube.

The photo above is of the .125 front seat post that will be available for purchase, it is .200 tall and mimics its .140 counterpart in the POA/POI. Just a disclaimer, the calipers I use are cheap and may not be 100% to specs. I would highly recommend consulting Ameriglo (website or customer service) for their specifications.
The difference between the rear of the BOLD and FBI, square and "U" notch sights is enough to provide the shooter with a choice of options. Some people like the square notch better, some like the "U" notches better, having the front sight post(s) both available and replaceable is a feature that is generally absent in this level of iron sight.

Right out of the box I installed the .125 and .160 "U" notch sights and hit the range (see photo above). Dialing in the sights was easy and only having to move the rear sight a hair's length more than I expected thanks to the aftermarket Barstow barrel. Sights ran as I expected, I ran about 100 and 200 drills, getting in the 160-170 range for the 100 and 200 in the high 90's range. This is on par with my accuracy standards when using the Ameriglo DeFoore sights mentioned above.

Conversely, I also like the square notch and .140 muzzle combination. The front sight is wide enough to take up a decent amount of room inside the rear sight notch window and allows the shooter to face "center" as easily as the .125/"U" notch combo.
I then went to Texas for the HiTS First Responder Pistol 3/Shotgun Comboclass during which I serviced my EDC Glock 19 with FBI contract sights (.125 front). The locations worked well and the resulting accuracy was expected. I enjoyed the slim front sight and the "U" notch combination allowed me to predictably achieve the accuracy I wanted.

I carried this setup for a few months and around 3/17 I changed the rear sights to square notches.

What do you all know about these new #BOLD sights from @ameriglosights with their orange fronts - the same front I posted about #fbisights earlier! And of course the #SCD #thegadget on my EDC gun is seeing a lot of work. A post shared by voodoo_man (@) on Mar 23, 2017 at 9:42 am PDT
I originally kept the thin .125 front sight but ended up swapping to a .140 front sight. The .125 front with the square notch was difficult for me to use because I was constantly fishing for it inside the square notch. By running different drills on different interval days and during daily dry-fire training I ended up switching away from the .125/square notch setup to the .140. I have used this setup for about four months, several thousand rounds with this setup. This is the setup that comes with the Gen5 Glock 19/17 directly from Glock. For a very short time I put a .140 and a "U" notch setup on one of my Glock 19's and ran it at the range. It worked well, in fact I might want to spend more time on this particular setup to see how well it can work.
I have the same problem with this that I had with the Trijicon HD sights, I don't like the orange sights. I lose them very quickly in bright sunlight and when I can get them on a fast approach, I'd rather have a green front sight. The circle is fairly easy to use for close range shooting and there is not a significant difference between the .125 and .140 from 15 yards. The .140/square notch BOLD setup works exactly the same for me compared to the .140/"U" notch setup and I suspect they will all work the same for 15 yards and inside. When you get around the 25 yard mark that .125 front width will help a lot. This has everything to do with the sight, from the target to the front sight post, to the rear sight post, then the general ability to look somewhere in the middle of the front/rear sights to find exactly where the shot will land. For the average person the .140 will probably work really well, which is probably the consensus from Ameriglo and Glock alike. This .125 is a great foresight option and I would recommend it to anyone who shoots 25 yards and beyond, but it will be used by the average shooter.
I installed all the front sights with a small piece of purple Loctite and used the small front sight that comes with the sights. If you are ordering your BOLD or FBI contract scopes I would recommend that if they come with a scope,
